You're my sweetheart

28/11/12

So I hit 100 views on my blog yesterday, which is mad because (although probably 75 of them came from my mum) someone is actually looking at my blog. I didn't think I'd even hit 10 let alone 100!
Never the less! Because of this milestone (don't judge me, I'm still a newbie!) I have decided to step out of my comfort zone.
Beauty reviewing isn't something I will be doing often at all. Quite frankly I'm craptacular when it comes to make up, my student budget doesn't allow me to branch out of "drugstore" brands. But I'm quite happy with the way all my cheap tricks look on my face so why does it matter!

However, I have found the most amazing product you could ever let meet your skin, and for the mere price of £2.89 for 125ml of wonder!
Ladies, I present to you, Waitrose baby bottom butter.

It is literally the only product I have ever used after exfoliating that seems to both soften and firm my skin, it's incredible! I found it worked immediately too, unlike some firming creams that tend to take an absolute age after applying several tubs.
I tend to use it mainly on my face, arms and legs but you can use it anywhere, and because of the cost you can afford to be generous when applying! (I find this is the best way to use the product too!)

I hope I've inspired some of you to get to Waitrose and get some!
Do you have a mirical beauty product?

I cannot wake up in the morning without you on my mind.

22/11/12

He was standing there, swaying to the melody.
Pot-bellied and care free,
pint sized and a smile so large it would take a slight turn of the head to see it all.
On lookers were laughing, but a laugh of amazement, rather than to jest with their friends.
The moment was beautiful and it filled you with an emotion of content excitement that spread like wildfire throughout the entire place.
His attitude to persevere although alone, was admirable.
Did I pity him? Perhaps. But only for a moment.
Not belittling pity, the gentleman was more than quadruple my age and I would never take such a pretentious stance on someones actions in life. But a pity of quiet sadness, he was clearly enjoying himself and I didn't want him to ever feel like what he was doing was being made a mockery of.
The feeling only passed through for a few seconds though, until I realised that, he was absolutely in his element, the adoration coming from young ladies and the acceptance from young men. His age, build or hair colour didn't matter as though it would if you were taking up a seat on a bus, at that moment he was an equal to these people and judging by his determination to carry on throughout to evening, he didn't ever want it to end.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the man who made my evening last night, through the hard bass and candle lit pub, he lit it up like a firework, all eyes were on him. He was my inspiration.

Where is my mind?

19.10.12

The star of this post is my left ear. Anybody still with me? Hang in there! I know it sounds obscure but I can promise you it isn't. Okay well it is a bit, but it's all for a good reason.I picked up one of those earrings in the Topshop half price sale that has an ear cuff attached (I can't link so I guess the one I got is sold out but they still have quite a few lovely ones in the sale). To me they look quite daunting but I've always been intrigued, and seen as I was hauling like a mofo it ended up being one of the things I picked up. But oh, my. It is one of the most amazing accessories that I've ever worn. It's so simple but it helped transform my whole face and outfit into a particular look (I thought it was very POTC chic but my housemate wouldn't stop calling me Boy George). I'm usually quite conscious of having my ears out but I was tucking my hair behind my ear left, right and center when I was wearing this little beauty.
So hear it is, my new fave accessory, just a word of warning, don't touch it too much if you have fat ears like me, because it does get a bit sore after a couple of hours wear and a few nudges.

I'm not at all sure why I'm channeling a Simpson here, apologies for crap camera qual!

Do any of you have a new favourite accessory in your life?

Love will tear us apart, again.

17.10.12

So yesterday three of my flatmates and I went to Guildford to satisfy our Nando's craving. Coincidentally (and accidentally, on our part) it was the same day as the student lock in. Which. Was. Amazing! (If not a little very dangerous!)
After living in H&M for about two years, when I heard Topshop were doing a 50% sale or 20% off I ran straight in and this amazing jumper was the second thing I picked up!
I threw it on with this ebay skirt and just a pair of old tights.
I was drawn to the necklace straight away, and it was in the half price sale which was exciting!
I got a few other bits including a cat ring (which was love at first sight) and some sparkly crotch shorts a la Florence in the Spectrum vid.
The outfit in this post is the one I'll be wearing to the pub tonight with my flatmates.
5 bombs for £10 all hail the student night!
